Tell us about what you worked on...

During my internship as a Business Development Intern at Let’s Talk Public Health, I gained valuable hands-on experience that strengthened both my technical and strategic skill sets. Throughout the internship, I developed competencies in data management and cleaning, utilized project management tools such as Airtable to support workflow organization, and contributed to RFP and proposal development efforts. These experiences enhanced my understanding of how data, systems, and strategy intersect in a small, mission-driven public health consulting environment.

Tell us your favorite part...

One of my favorite aspects of the internship was supporting RFP writing and proposal development. This work allowed me to engage deeply with organizational storytelling, positioning, and alignment between client needs and Let’s Talk Public Health’s strengths. I also particularly enjoyed tinkering with data visualization tools while contributing to the development of metrics reports, as it gave me the opportunity to translate data into clear, actionable insights for both internal and external audiences.

Tell us how you plan to use what you learned...

I plan to use what I learned during this internship to continue building and refining hard skills that will support my long-term goal of pivoting further into private-sector and consulting-focused roles. Specifically, I intend to apply my experience with data systems, proposal development, and learn how to better harness AI to support workflows to future grant and business development efforts, including using AI tools more strategically to support grant writing and market analysis.

Overall, this internship strengthened my confidence in navigating business development within public health spaces and reinforced my interest in applied, data-informed work. I look forward to continuing to support Monique and the Let’s Talk Public Health team, particularly through additional mixed-methods and market research projects that bridge evaluation, strategy, and real-world impact.
